The first serial produced low-tonnage Mercedes-Benz Vito E-Cell with full electric drive drove out on a roads out of Germany. First five cars having been sold to first client became a reality of Basque Country. Thus Basque Country is not only place of electric cars production, but place for exploitation. Another clients will receive theirs cars after some time.

Vito E-Cell is fully low-tonnage vehicle intending for daily exploitation among E-Cell cars. This is the first low-tonnage vehicle being produced as a serial version. Mercedes-Benz took into account all demands of customer after some consultation.
In case of 900kg of loading and absence of net volume restrictions Vito E-Cell copes with all standard transportation jobs. Storage batteries are located ergonomically under cargo compartment. They are new lithium-ion batteries with a special power and able to work during high currents. A total storage capacitor is about 36 kilowatt/hr.
It is enough for 130 km of distance. Every Vito car of typical client drives about 50 – 80 km per day. So cruising range of Vito E-Cell makes up client’s demands. Electric engine of Vito E-Cell has 60 kilowatt/hr of working power and 280Nm of torque. Vito E-Cell is able to be proud of its dynamical characteristics comparing with diesel versions. A total speed of Vito E-Cell is limited till 80 km/hr. The first serial production will have about 2000 examples of Vito.
